Recycling
Though both can be recycled, Aluminium is much more likely to be recycled. The problem is that there are many different kinds of plastics – not all of which are recyclable. Research shows that even of those that can be recycled, only 29.3% are currently recycled.
Aluminium on the other hand is easily recycled. It is estimated that 75% of all aluminium is still in use.
Non-toxic in production
The other environmental advantage that aluminium has over plastic is that the production process is much less polluting. Aluminium production creates no toxic byproducts. Plastic production creates a number of toxic chemicals, including trichloroethane, acetone, methylene chloride, methyl ethyl ketone and styrene.
Built to last
Zarges cases are manufactured from strong aluminium that is designed to last a lifetime, whereas a plastic box is designed only to last a few years. This means that plastic boxes will often end their life in a landfill – polluting the planet for centuries to come.
Looks cooler
The other advantage is that aluminium just looks cooler. It’s sleek, shiny and it’s lighter, thinner and stronger than plastic.
